The Polk County Historical Society maintains two sites:

           

 The Brunk House, a restored 1861 farmstead located on Highway 22 near the junction of Highway 51 on the Salem - Dallas highway.   

              

 

 

 

 

The Polk County Museum, a two story building with 14,000 square feet of display space holding a vast collection of artifacts, photos, genealogical material and publications dealing with the history of Polk County and the surrounding area. It is located at the County Fairgrounds at Rickreal.
